We all need a little bit of colour in our lives. When Britain expanded her empire over 150 years ago, she came into contact with a wide array of vibrant cultures that we had no idea had existed before then. From the moment we began to stop imposing ourselves upon them and embraced their cultures, we have been forever changed. Our fashions (if you contrast the colours and styles in the clothing now compared to those of the 19th century), our food (during your weekly diet, you can guarantee that you will be using ingredients or cooking meals that derive from these different cultures) and even our way of talking has been influenced by these cultures and we are now a much better society because of it.
At Luton Carnival Arts Centre, these other cultures are embraced and are presented to the young and old of today in a manner that is both fun and informative. There are a variety of dance classes, cookery classes and music classes where you can learn a completely new way of doing things which can greatly enhance your known techniques. The centre has managed to make numerous people from all walks of life see the world in which they live in a completely different way; no longer a scary place, but a vibrant and fun loving place that is to be explored! Even if you only go once or twice, you can guarantee that your perception of life will be changed in a way that you will love.

The main issue that people have with flying into London is that this is very superficial – you may think that you are flying into London when in actual fact, unless you are flying into London City airport, you are going to end up in an airport that is a few miles outside the city. Luton airport is no exception and is a good 30 minute drive from the city on the motorway. This isn’t a problem for people who know the city and surrounding area well; the public transport network is more than adequate for people to whom it is second nature to use. Likewise, for people who are returning to Luton airport after flying out; it is very likely that they will have left their car in the airport car park so can leap in there and be home within the hour.
The issue arises if it is your first time into a London airport. You are very unlikely to have a source of transportation (unless you are meeting a friend or family member) and are likely to be very tired after flying – it is well known that travelling is a very tiring thing to do. In both cases, to try and use the trains and buses is madness – you will get lost and stressed and it is not a good way to start your trip to Britain. So do yourself a favour and hire a car – you can drive to your hotel and be there without any hassle or excess stress!
